Established over twenty years ago, we are enablers, educators, and innovators passionate about people empowerment, rural and urban development, economic diversification, and building smart, resilient, and inclusive regions. Twenty years is a long time. But we are as energetic and innovative now as when we first started, earning a reputation for tackling complex challenges and stubborn problems with innovative solutions and strategic direction.

It starts with people power. Working with visionary people from over 30 key development organisations in Ireland (and now in the EU and USA), municipalities, local councils, national development bodies, and those at the grassroots level in local action and community groups, disruptors, and changemakers, together we create better futures for all.

  • Bespoke education and training support to empower people as individuals and within organisations, equipping them with the skills needed to drive innovation, wellbeing, sustainability and socio-economic growth.
  • Is it feasible? We still work with a small number of key clients (many of whom have been with us from the very early days) in grant writing and feasibility studies, where we get very competitive in identifying funding opportunities and crafting compelling proposals. We treat each project as our own. It is an intense time of focus and creativity (typical in the very early mornings!), but again, it’s back to the people involved, their place, and achieving much better outcomes. Most of our people and place projects are thriving today, and when it doesn’t work out, it brings powerful learning and many indirect benefits remain.
  • Overcoming depopulation, unemployment, dereliction, and the lived experiences that cripple our sense of wellbeing as people and places/ communities. We focus on the practical, the achievable, the affordable.

Why Sheep?

You might be wondering why our brand is associated with sheep, especially sheep in jumpers and sunglasses. It really is not as strange as it sounds!

  • Sheep are the ultimate team players. They stick together in a flock, showing us the importance of community, unity, and collaboration. In our work, we believe in fostering a team and a sense of togetherness. Otherwise, it is just not fun!
  • Every flock needs a shepherd, and every community needs a leader. Sheep remind us of the importance of guidance and leadership, essential in each project.
  • Sheep are actually gentle and approachable animals. Keeping things simple is really important to our work.
  • Sheep in colourful jumpers and sunglasses? Well, fun and enjoying our work is an essential part of Educate + Innovate.

So, like sheep, Educate + Innovate is a community, a guide, and a creative force dedicated to empowering people and places.
