PROMOTE Highly Skilled Migrant Women

About This Project

Our mission is to empower people and we are excited to be a partner in the PROMOTE project which seeks to equip highly skilled Ukrainian and migrant women with the knowledge and skills they need to access and thrive in modern, evolving labour markets.

Together with six European project partners we will enhance continuing vocational education (CVET), in particular educators’ comprehension of the career integration hurdles and prospects for these women who have huge potential, experience and skills to offer at a time when talent is scarce.

PROMOTE will engage highly skilled migrant women and employers in mentorship initiatives, work-based learning, and job placement programmes across our partner regions.

Project Impact

By 2027, PROMOTE will upskill over 50 VET educators and 75+ highly skilled Ukrainian and migrant women fostering a more inclusive and dynamic European workforce. Over 150 participants from the target group and over twenty employers facing talent shortages are involved in the research phase. The NatAlli online resource hub aims to reach over 10,000 visitors who can download and use PROMOTE resources. Platform users will include CVET educators who spot a need to replicate PROMOTE, Ukrainian and migrant women navigating employment complexities and employers seeking talent. Labour market actors and policymakers will also be a wider interest group in the platform and PROMOTE’s work to create more inclusive workforces. Social media channels will engage 1000+ followers and the final Learning Exchange Activity will bring together all stakeholders to discuss and plan for the long-term and sustained use of the project results.

Why we are excited about this project

We are excited to be part of the PROMOTE project because it directly addresses the employment barriers faced by highly skilled migrant women. Through our work, we’ve seen how many of these women struggle to have their qualifications recognised or access the right opportunities, despite having valuable expertise. We were delighted to have three amazing women, 2 Ukrainian and 1 Romanian, Inessa Kiriachok, Silvia Apostol and Victoria Aslan, join us at the PROMOTE project meeting in Leitrim village last November to share their experience. We are excited that PROMOTE offers us the opportunity to apply our experience and work with our European partners to create a best practice approach to training, skills development, and labour market integration for amazing, resilient and talented women like Inessa, Silvia and Victoria.
