Magnetar hosted the second Smart4Food Transnational Partner meeting at their offices in Limassol, Cyprus, on June 19th and 20th.
The partners discussed their experiences of the research phase of the project, which included both desk research, surveys and interviews with family farmers, agricultural educators and policy makers in each of the Partner countries. This research contributes to the development of the Key Competences Map, which in turn serves as the basis for curriculum development.
The consortium recognised the hard work done on this research and on the development of the website, social media channels and first project ezine, which are working to share project news, and in time, the project results and outputs with the key stakeholders the project is targeting. Further discussions involved detailed planning and timetabling of activities for the next six months.
This in-person meeting strengthened the collaboration between the partners, who are from Cyprus, Croatia, Slovakia, Ireland, Italy and Turkey. For consortium members who were not available to travel, they were able to participate online, which ensured full participation.
Day one concluded with a wonderful meal where Partners shared a selection of traditional Cypriot dishes, in the shadow of King Richard’s castle in Limassol, and learned more about the fascinating history of the island, and the particular challenges faced by its agricultural community.
