FEMpower in Finance

About This Project

At Momentum Educate + Innovate (MEI) we look forward to supporting women on a transformative journey towards financial empowerment and social inclusion on FEMpower in Finance, a new project funded under the Erasmus+ programme.

Imagine a future where women are financially empowered and confident in their financial decisions. With FEMpower in Finance, we aim to make this vision a reality. Our mission is to combat the looming threat of old-age poverty among women and bridge the gender gap by equipping women with sustainable financial literacy skills.

Our project will increase the relevance and impact of Adult Educators by providing them with modular, flexible and innovative training materials that enable them to empower women to make sustainable financial decisions and to increase their self-confidence regarding financial matters. By focusing on sustainable investments, the project not only impacts positively on the economy but also contributes to driving change and achieving positive impacts on society and the environment.

By participating in the FEMpower in finance programme, women will gain the knowledge and confidence needed to make informed and sustainable financial choices. We emphasize the importance of old-age provision and asset accumulation, ensuring that women are prepared for a secure future.

Project Impact

The project runs until late 2026, and by then we will have developed a curriculum that specifically addresses female financial education and empowerment. This seven-module course will also include case studies and an educators’ pack, to support adult educators and peer-to-peer networks to deliver the course to women across Europe.

Over 500 Adult education providers across Europe will have been briefed on the project’s tools and resources.  Our goal is to ensure that women will have participated in our course by viewing and downloading our resources more than 5000 times by the end of the project.

The project will also deliver Exploitation workshops to develop a strategy that will recommend activities to pursue to ensure the project tools and resources reach a wide audience, even beyond the lifetime of the project.

Expected Results

Curriculum and Flexible Multimedia Education Resources, we will define the concrete topics, modules, learning objectives and specific content of the resources to be developed. To take into account different backgrounds and experience and to enable the widest possible adaptation of our resources by Adult Education providers and Peer-to-Peer networks across Europe, we also pursue the ambitious goal of making the curriculum as modular and flexible as possible.

Series of 10 case studies developed based on the finalised curriculum and sharing real world stories to inspire and influence women who take the course.

FEMpower in Finance Knowledge Hub   This online resource will host a range of interactive tools and resources that will help facilitate the management of financial matters. We aim to compile practical tools and methods that facilitate short- and medium-term financial decisions, as well as support strategy development for retirement planning and wealth accumulation – with a focus on sustainable investments and tailored to the needs of women. The toolbox can be used in different settings: by Adult Educators (classroom, hybrid, online learning) or by the beneficiary directly in the framework of self-learning.

Why we are excited about this project

Momentum Educate + Innovate (MEI) is an educator and empowerment specialist of people, particularly those who are marginalised or experience additional challenges and scarce opportunities.  As a female-founded organisation, women’s empowerment, equality, equity, and inclusion are a priority area for us. We work for the removal/remediation of obstacles and barriers for a wide range of female learners constrained by gender biases and stereotypes.

We are a leader in innovative solutions for economic development.  By integrating the project’s outcomes—such as financial education tools, resources, and methodologies—into MEI’s regular programming.

Together, we are working to create a world where women thrive financially and contribute to a more equitable society.
