About This Project

Embedded in our rural economy, Momentum Educate + Innovate (MEI) is delighted to work on the Smart4Food Small Farm Innovation Training Programme, a new project funded under the Erasmus+ programme.

Smart4Food directly addresses climate change by facilitating the transfer of knowledge and innovation in sustainable agricultural practices and tackling the innovation and diversification skills deficit. It actively promotes sustainable development and digital integration in agriculture.  Our project goes beyond simply adopting innovative technologies it is focused on instilling a culture of sustainability and responsible agriculture through innovations in carbon footprinting, waste management and energy-efficient agriculture.

By sharing best practices from our partners, Smart4Food offers customisable solutions for various European countries, driving change on an international scale.

Key Competencies Mapping, Content Development, Dissemination and Communications

Expected Results

Key competencies map Developed using desk research but also including personal experiences of different stakeholders, round tables, and focus groups. Based on these findings, the set of key competencies will be identified

Curriculum and Open Multimedia Education Resources “SMART4Food Innovation Training Programme “                Develop new curriculum and Open Educational Resources (OERs) for vocational education and training at level EQF 4 oriented on the innovation in entrepreneurship activities of small and family farms.

Smart4Food microlearning system          The Smart4Food microlearning system allows training activities when farmers learn in a short period of time, and without disrupting their daily tasks. It will contain the OER consisting of different multimedia formats.

SMART4Food Hub           Smart4Food Hub, a synergistic space for farmers, people from rural areas on one side, and educators, academics, or researchers on another side, will strengthen key competencies of farmers and bring educators and/or academics closer to rural learner.

Why we are excited about this project

Momentum Educate + Innovate (MEI) is an empowerment specialist of people and places, particularly in rural areas facing challenges and scarce opportunities.  We are a leader in innovative solutions for rural regeneration and economic development. Our work is at the forefront of championing twin transitions (green and digital) in agriculture which are directly addressed by Smart4Food.

We are excited to collaborate with our European Partners on Smart4Food and apply our experience to support the development of targeted, high-quality training materials and skills development tools that will have a lasting impact on the smallholder community.
