FEMpower Promoted at International Women’s Day Event

Momentum was delighted to promote FEMpower to attendees at an International Women’s Day event in Ireland. The event was hosted by Sligo Women in Business Network (SWIBN) and Sligo Local Enterprise Office at the Hawk’s Well Theatre.

Over one hundred women gathered to hear from an accomplished panel comprised of Senator Nessa Cosgrove, International Criminal Lawyer and Entrepreneur Joanna Frivet, and business owners OxyZone Sligo Anna Miklikowska and Barbara Aluk, who shared their time and stories so generously. Their contributions and the Q and A it sparked were expertly moderated by Susan O’Keeffe, who also shared some of her own experiences of life as a female investigative journalist.

After the panel discussion, there was an informal networking session. Denise Callan represented FEMpower and welcomed many women to the display stand where they discussed their experiences and challenges with financial literacy. She introduced them to the FEMpower project, outlined its goals and objectives and distributed fliers with details of the project to encourage women to follow the FEMpower journey over the coming years.
